I love trees. And I love flowering trees in the spring– they are absolutely stunning. I see them everywhere and a lot. I am so glad I got a couple pictures of them. The forest is so cool looking too. So beautiful. Spring is here, it came. Seasons are really really great. If you are having a hard time, you are in a sort of winter, hold on, spring will come, and you will have better days. New growth, new flowers, new leaves, lots of green, lots of hope. Rebirth, new life, and lots and lots of good days!!
These are all taken from my front yard. It is so stunning and beautiful. There are a million more things to take beautiful pictures of in the spring than there were this winter. I could not possibly take a picture of every lovely beautiful thing I see. The trees are all filling in bright green. Flowers are blooming everywhere. It has been warm although is a bit chilly this morning. It is awesome. We can go outside at anytime barefoot and jacketless. It feels so free!!
Kids are blowing and popping bubbles, and the bee is happy flying flower to flower so quickly I could hardly catch him!!
So today has been a lovely day. This is MY weekend. I was born on Mother’s Day 40 years ago!! I don’t feel like I’m 40– and I won’t be officially until tomorrow. Today is the last day of my 30s. It has been something, I’ll say– so much change and growth and challenge. So anyway, I made my mother a mother that day, I was her first and she loved me and cared for me and raised me very well, I think. Thank you mom! She has been a great mother, and I am very grateful for her. I had no idea of the level of her love and concern until I had my first baby, and now that my baby girl is a teen, I have a renewed appreciation for my mom for what I realize she did for me– just teaching me to drive for one thing!! I love you mom!!
The spring is glorious!! Especially if you have followed my record of the amount of snow we had this winter. This spring is so amazing and wonderful. I feel so free outside, words are not enough, neither are pictures. The air feels nice, it feels good to breathe and the smells especially right after a rain, and the feeling of the trees and leaves and flowers, it is almost overwhelming to me especially after the long, cold winter we had like I mentioned! Here are some of the photos I’ve taken just in the yard. Click to enlarge.
And as if all that wasn’t enough to be grateful and happy about, to celebrate my birthday which is on Monday, we went to Rhode Island for the first time (we kept missing it on our trips and have been meaning to get there). It was sunny when we left, but foggy when we got there. But it turned out to be a very fun outing, the kids got a little wet, but it was just nice to watch and listen to the waves and walk in the sand. I LOVE the ocean. It is so calming and beautiful and amazing. You can see in the second photo how foggy it was, we took turns walking into the void and being lost by sight through the fog even though we weren’t so far away from each other.
And I LOVE being a mom!! Before I was married and had children, I would often try to figure out what purpose my life would have, I wanted to help others and contribute to humanity in some way, but I was never really sure how. Until I had my first baby, then I felt so needed and so fulfilled in caring for her and my subsequent children. It has certainly had its ups and downs and I can’t say I will ever really miss changing my twins’ diapers or cleaning up blown out diapers or potty training or not sleeping and being in constant, intense demand for meals and cleaning, but I’m really glad I got to do it. I’m really glad I have a wonderful, amazing husband who has made it possible for me to stay home with them and be able to provide for their needs and wants. I love taking care of my children, and being with them and enjoying sweet times together. Here is me with one of my sweet twins who has been a bit clingy lately and makes me feel so loved!
Happy Mother’s Day and Happy Birthday to me!!
It has been so warm and we had such a great summer last year hanging out at the lake, that my kids really wanted to go and see if it was thawed. I told them I was pretty sure it was, but that it would likely be very cold. We figured out a time to go, they wore their swimsuits, although only one of them brought a towel. The rowing team was there, but it looked like they were leaving, so over to the beachfront we went. All but my oldest had come for this, and all 7 of them got very wet and the good swimmers swam and loved it!! Once one of them got out and started shivering without a towel, I figured it was time to get, go home and take baths. I’m sure we’ll be returning often!!
This is a branch from a tree in my backyard getting ready to bloom. There are lots of dandelions and forsythia, I saw my first tulips in town starting to open up. I am soaking up all the warmth and all the time I can be outside without a sweater and no boots. It’s awesome!! Yay for spring!!
I am home!! We have been gone 2 full weeks and have driven through 20 states plus Canada. It has been so awesome, we have done, seen and learned a lot. We got to stay with family we don’t see often. We are so happy to be home! I wanted to kiss the ground when we came in the house. The foresty pine scent was nice and welcoming. I love New Hampshire. And my house is clean, it’s so awesome!! There is nothing like coming home after a long trip and sleeping your own bed!! Good night!!
The last hike we went on was so awesome, that we had to go on another hike. It is so nice to be in nature. The hike itself was not as pretty and serene, nor as long as the last one we went on, but the destination was more spectacular!! It was only about 15-20 min. to the falls from the parking lot, and that’s with a 2 yr. old. We had lots of time to look around and we hiked up above the falls to see the river and it was beautiful all around. We also brought some snacks again this time and all 8 kids came. I loved it. I think all the kids did too!!
We can pretty much go outside without coats on again!! Yay!! I have been getting some really awesome photos. I love taking pictures of things, I don’t know why, I just do. This day was misty and rainy, but wow we got some awesome shots and had fun.I have been learning how to shoot in RAW format and I am learning how to edit the photos, I’m trying to figure out the best way to organize and keep my photos, so this is all I have ready to share today. It may take me some time to get a decent workflow. But it is so much fun!! I love learning new things, and I love the warmer weather. I love the hikes and the kids playing outside. Such a wonderful time of year, and the snow is pretty much all gone!! It is still a bit cold in the mornings. I almost feel like I have been let out prison with this weather, I am free to just walk outside with no coat!! Heaven!!
