I love running (or jogging slowly).  I joined the cross country team in high school my junior year, because I did not make the soccer team and I wanted to be in shape for basketball which was my favorite sport.  Running was hard, after my first cross country race which included a straight up dirt road type hill that we had to run up twice, I crossed the finished line hardly able to breathe and told my coach I was not going to do that again.  He smiled at me and said, “you’ll be back.”  He was right.  And not only that, Cross Country became my all time favorite sport.  I made some really great friends and I learned that I can do hard things.  It is an acquired taste, this love of running.  I haven’t done much of it the past few years raising twin babies and then having another baby, but the twins are now 4 and the baby is now 2, and I have started running again.  YAY!!!  so good!
